NEW YORK THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY (NYTS) CERTIFICATE IN MINISTRY AND LEADERSHIP
The Certificate in Ministry and Leadership (CML) is a two-year non-degree program that prepares students for leadership in Christian ministry. Its dynamic course of study provides a foundational theological education that is academic, spiritual and biblically. It is open to students from all religious traditions who desire formal training in Christian ministry.
Classes are offered in English and Spanish throughout the New York Metropolitan area and New Jersey. Courses are also available online in both English and Spanish. Classes are usually held on Saturdays or in the evenings. Click here for a list of locations.
The curriculum covers Biblical, historical, theological and practical studies, and some of the classes are taught by graduates of NYTS. While some teaching locations are affiliated with specific denominations or theological traditions, the program seeks to engage the rich diversity of the broader Christian tradition in an open spirit.
At the completion of the program students may get advanced standing towards the bachelor’s degree. NYTS is partnered with several colleges and universities in New York and New Jersey in order to grant credits in this certificate program towards the completion of a bachelor’s degree. Those interested may also continue their studies at NYTS towards a Master’s degree.
